What blows me away is that we could save more lives and money by telecommuting.

In certain circumstances working from remote locations can be ideal.

Unfortunately, people lack discipline when they aren’t in the right environment to work. If you’re working from home and your kids are at home during that time frame, how well are you going to be able to concentrate? Priorities are important. So on and so forth.

I think it’d be ideal in a lot of circumstances. Most office workers are still driven by metrics. Fail to meet those and you’re in trouble. Doesnt matter where you work. I had a job that allowed me to work from home 1 day a week. I got more work done that day than any other because I didn’t want to lose the privilege.

It’s gonna be a while before we get to the point that cars are calculating death counts for their actions.

What do we do in the era of instantaneous global communication?

Pack ourselves more tightly into a few overpriced metropolitan areas.
